5 Minute Tone Up #1 | No Excuses Workouts
No time I hear you say? Busy with the kids, work and other commitments? No worries! Here’s a 5 minute tone up that will have you feeling fit and fabulous without breaking a sweat.
Created as express sessions for busy people this is all part of the “every bit counts” rule. Instead of stressing about not fitting in long gym workouts and classes – commit to 5minutes or resistance training every day – morning or night. Just turn the timer on your phone and set start.
I’ll be posting a series of these, so you’ve got a quick and easy reference when you’re thinking of opting out and hitting the couch – bring this up onto your iPad and get moving instead. Or just print this page.
Don’t forget the best time to kick start your metabolism and get moving is in the morning if you can! It will set your mood as positive and CAN DO for the rest of the day.
What you’ll need
– Some good tunes to motivate you (or not, pending what works..)
– A timer on your iPhone or interval time like GYMBOSS
– Bare feet or sports shoes
– A small area you can move and not hit anything
25 x Push Ups
25 x Mountain Climbers
25 x Lunges
25 x Split Jumps (Jumping on the spot with one foot in front of the other then change legs mid jump)
25 x Crunches
10 Breathes in an out (in through the nose, out through your mouth – ensure you breathe into your belly and not raising your shoulders with shallow chest breathes…)
REPEAT THE ABOVE
20 Slow breathes in an out (in through the nose, out through your mouth – ensure you breathe into your belly and not raising your shoulders …)
If the Marines can do it (that’s where I got the inspiration from, then we can do it too!)
Technique tip of the day : Crunches
Reps: If 25 seems and feels too much then just start with 5 reps of each exercise.
